Why we need it: This permission allows the app to detect incoming calls and phone state changes, which is essential for properly managing SMS functionality. It helps the app understand when the device is in use and manage SMS operations accordingly without conflicts.
What we do NOT do: We do not collect your phone number, IMEI, or any device identifiers. We do not track your calls or share this information with anyone.
Why we need it: These are the core permissions required for any SMS management app. They allow the app to:
- Read your messages for organization and categorization
- Send messages on your behalf
- Receive incoming messages and MMS
- Manage your SMS database (mark as read, delete, archive)
What we do: All messages are processed and stored locally on your device. The AI categorization happens on-device only. No messages are ever sent to external servers.
Why we need it: This permission allows the app to display contact names alongside phone numbers in your conversations, making it easier to identify who you are messaging.
What we do: Contact information is only read to display names in the app interface. No contact data is stored separately or transmitted anywhere.
Why we need it: To show you notifications for incoming messages, ensuring you do not miss important texts.
Why we need it: Used only for opening links within messages using your default browser (via url_launcher package). The app itself does not transmit any data over the internet.
Data Storage and Security
- All your SMS messages, contacts, and app data are stored locally on your device only
- We do not have servers or databases that collect your information
- We do not transmit your messages, contacts, or personal data over the internet
- The AI categorization feature works completely offline on your device
- Your data remains private and under your complete control at all times
- App data is protected by Android app sandbox security model
Third-Party Services
Prime SMS does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The app operates entirely offline and does not communicate with external servers. We do not use:
- Google Analytics or any analytics services
- Advertising networks
- Crash reporting services that send data externally
- Cloud backup services
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third parties. Since all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted, there is zero data sharing whatsoever.
